Reference Rate

Reference rate is a term some GEO platforms use as a synonym for citation rate, the percentage of relevant AI answers that reference a brand as a source.

Why it matters

Reference rate and citation rate measure the same underlying thing under two different names, a naming inconsistency worth knowing about mainly so a reader comparing tools or reports isn't thrown off by the different label.
